People who live in Ontario receive free health care for many services and treatments through the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Currently, there is no waiting period for OHIP. If you are eligible, you can immediately apply for health insurance coverage. For items that aren't covered by OHIP, health and life insurance is sometimes available through your employer or available through individual plans through an insurance company.
