How to Present International Experience
Workshop Details: Learn how to effectively showcase your international education and work experience in a way that resonates with Canadian employers. This workshop helps participants understand how to present their global background as a strong asset while aligning it with local hiring expectations. Participants will learn how to translate job titles, responsibilities, and achievements into clear, relevant language that employers can easily understand. The session also covers strategies for highlighting transferable skills, explaining differences in workplace practices, and addressing potential employer concerns with confidence. In addition, participants will gain tips on incorporating international experience into resumes, cover letters, and interviews in a way that demonstrates value and credibility. By the end of the workshop, participants will feel more confident presenting their experience and positioning themselves competitively in the Canadian job market.
Program Outline: COSTI has launched its Employment Related Services (ERS) program, offering workshops for Permanent Residents and Convention Refugees to build job-ready skills.
Additional workshop topics include resume writing, interview skills, networking, mentorship, and digital job search support, along with one-on-one counselling and resume screening.
