DESCRIPTION:Interested participants are invited to attend this information session to learn more about the 16-week BuildHER Future: Newcomer Women in Construction program, including the eligibility requirements, application process, available supports, and career development opportunities. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions and receive additional information about the program.\nTo register for the information session, please click here.\nWhat is BuildHER Future?\nBuildHER Future (BHF) – Newcomer Women in Construction is a free skills and career development program funded by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) through the Foreign Credential Recognition (FCR) Program.\nThe program is designed to support internationally educated professional women with backgrounds in:\n\nEngineering\nArchitecture\nConstruction\nComputer Science\nInformation Technology\nFinance\nProject Management\nOther technical or professional fields\n\nThe program helps participants advance their careers in Ontario’s construction sector through:\n\nIndustry-specific training\nLeadership development\nEmployment readiness support\nExperiential learning opportunities\n\nProgram Overview\n\nCost: Free\nDelivery: Hybrid or Virtual\nDuration: 16 weeks\nApplication: Ongoing – Apply as soon as possible\nCohorts: Three cohorts are offered annually. The second cohort of 2026 will begin on July 31, 2026, with an orientation session for participants.\n\nMicro-Credentials\nParticipants will receive the following micro-credentials delivered in collaboration with educational partners:\nSchulich Executive Education, York University\n\nProject Management in Construction\n\nHumber Polytechnic\n\nHealth & Safety\nSustainable Building Practices\nConstruction Project Coordination\n\nEligibility Criteria\nApplicants must:\n\nSelf-identify as a woman (18+)\nCurrently reside in Ontario\nHold international education credentials (degree, diploma, or apprenticeship) in engineering, architecture, construction, IT, finance, project management, or a related field\nHave a minimum of two years of professional experience outside Canada\nHave a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher\nHold one of the following immigration statuses:\n\nCanadian Citizen\nPermanent Resident\nTemporary Resident with a valid work permit\nPerson granted refugee status in Canada with a valid work permit\n\n\n\nThe application process is currently open.\nTo register for the program, please click here.\n
