Its purpose is to provide them with the tools they need to improve their personal and professional lives, fostering greater independence and confidence.\nTraining Objectives:\n\nReading Skills: Techniques for understanding and analyzing texts\nWriting Basics: Forms, applications, and emails\nNumeracy Skills: Basic arithmetic, budgeting, and financial literacy\nDigital Literacy: Using word processors, online safety, email, and internet navigation\nMentoring Opportunities\nJob Support\n\nA certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the course.\nWho Is Eligible:\nEligibility is open to residents of Ontario who fall into any of the following categories:\n\nA naturalized Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or their dependent, Convention refugee, or refugee claimant; or\nIndividuals approved as permanent residents, or their dependents, who have not yet been processed to receive permanent resident status (e.g., those approved under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program or the Canadian Experience Class); or\nIndividuals admitted under a federal caregiver program with a pathway to permanent residency.\n\n
