Biking / Cycling
Biking/cycling is another great way to get around Peel. Cyclists are encouraged to use the bike lanes located between the road and the sidewalk on many roadways.
If the street doesn't have a bike lane, then you are able to ride on the road, closest to the sidewalk. Remember, cyclists are supposed to ride in the same direction as the moving vehicles and must obey the same traffic rules. So you must stop at all stop signs, signal with your hand when you are turning and watch for cars and pedestrians.
Ontario law requires all cyclists under the age of 18 to wear an approved bicycle helmet. Cyclists over 18 are encouraged to wear helmets for their own safety, but are not required to by law.
