After High School - Post Secondary Education
After high school, there are many post-secondary options available if you or your child want to pursue higher education.
Universities
Ontario has 18 universities. Peel Region has one university located in Mississauga, which is the University of Toronto, Mississauga campus (or UTM).
Universities offer a variety of programs in many fields of study. Options include:
- Undergraduate programs where students can receive a bachelor degree
- Graduate programs leading to masters and doctorate degrees
- Continuing education programs and certificates, including distance and part-time programs
- Programs offered by colleges and universities, in a special partnership, that let students earn a university degree and a college diploma at the same time
Colleges of applied arts and technology
There are 24 colleges of applied arts and technology in Ontario. Many colleges have more than one campus location, which means students can take full-time and part-time courses at more than 100 locations across the province.
Peel Region has one college located in Brampton, Sheridan College which offers a variety of programs for newcomers.
